בני המושבים פועלת במרחב ההתיישבותי במושבים, קיבוצים וישובים קהילתיים. בני המושבים מחנכת למעורבות בישוב ובסביבת החניך כדי ליצור חברה ישראלית צודקת יותר, שוויונית יותר, דמוקרטית, סובלנית ושוחרת שלום.
הערכים המובילים בבני המושבים הם אהבת הארץ והסביבה, ציונות, סובלנות, שוויון, דמוקרטיה, עבודה, לקיחת אחריות, מעורבות, הטלת ספק, עזרה הדדית ועוד. ערכים אלו באים לידי ביטוי בפעילות השוטפת ותוכנית ההדרכה התנועתית ובמפעלים השונים.
את בני המושבים מובילים בעלי תפקידים שונים העוברים הכשרה וליווי: מדריכים צעירים (מד"צים), מדריכים מתקדמים (מד"מים), מובילי שכבה צעירה (מש"צים) בשכבת יב' וגרעינרים בשנת השירות. בכל יישוב יש מדריך בוגר (מד"ב) המלווה ומוביל את פעילות הנוער ובכל מועצה ממונה רכז תנועה – האחראי על כל הפעילות התנועתית.
